The Wiertz museum

The Wiertz museum

Localization: Bruxelles - Belgium.

Destination: Unknown.

Discovered by: Pierre Lidiaux.

Ferryman: No.

Status: Possible opening.

Means: Passage.

Notes:

In 1851, the anarchistic painter Antoine Wiertz succeeded in obtaining from the Minister of Interior Department Charles Rogier the availability of a vast workshop, built especially for him and intended to become after its death a "Wiertz museum". On the other hand, the artist bequeathed at the Belgian State the whole of his fabrics present and to come.

One still does not manage to understand what could at the time decided a minister to launch out in similar adventures without having measured all the consequences that that could have had. One does not know either why this place was selected rather than an other.

It is in any case the writer and realizer Pierre Lidiaux, author of the book now untraceable "the B file" which supposed the existence of a Passage place to this point and tried to show its assumption in an unfinished film on Wiertz.
