This building is certainly an entire enigma in itself. Is it possible to imagine a palace which probably was never finished, which was never named during the last 500 years, which is nearly unknown even by the inhabitans of Vienna?

This building is called "Schloss Neugebäude", which means "The new built palace". No plans of it exist, only two or three views, only from the northern facade. Until today it is unknown if the southern facade was finished or how it looked. Very strangely, it has exactly the same size as the famous "Schloss Schönbrunn", the big Habsburg palace.

All ornamental parts from this palace had been removed and integrated in the Schönbrunn palace, forming the "Gloriette" and an artificial ruin there. Only one single piece was left, showing the skull of a bull. Since 1775, the palace had been abandoned for decades.

The palace seems to be the broken mirror of Schönbrunn. It is a kind of a blank in the world which surrounds it. It seems also being a gap in the timeline. For instance, drawings by Napoleons soldiers remain there as if they had been made yesterday. On the other hand, it is impossible to find any todays graffities.

Any plans to restore it have been always abandoned. It seems that since centuries, somebody wants to leave it forgotten. For which mysterious reason? For his possible connection with the Obscure world? The question is asked...
